The Wonders of Making a Wreath

The season of Fall is like a prolonged Black Friday sale for crafters. As soon as the weather starts to chill and the calendar dates that today is the First Day of Fall, every art & crafts stores are flooded with individuals purchasing tons of supplies to make some of the best decorations and craft projects. Let me be honest here, the last 4 months of the year hold some the best holidays to perform crafts for individuals, families, groups, organizations, etc. Out of the four months, September - October happens to be two of favorite due to FALL! It's during this time of year, you can take in the nice weather as well as the beautiful landscape. Seeing all of the vibrant colors that produce a warm and fuzzy feeling that you cannot help to let over take you.

Now for a side note, its during the fall time that I actually kick it up notch with working out and trying to exercise. Never have I been someone who enjoys any form of exercise, however when it comes to the fall season you'll always catch me walking outdoors for hours at a time each day. During these walks I find myself looking at each home comparing all of the outdoor decorations. I mean these families are playing zero games when it come to design. From cute little pumpkins outlining the staircase of the porch, to whickered furniture pieces paired with decorative pillows, and beautiful potted flowers that adds a little hint of flavor. I absolutely love it all. But! I must say, the eye catching item that makes and breaks whether a person's house is the best decorated on the block is determined by "The Wreath".

This circular and/or square item is more than a piece of Styrofoam or a combination of twigs that delicately hangs from the door your children continues to slam as they run in & out the house. This delicate item is the number one thing that greets your guest before you even say a mumbling word. It is "The Wreath" who sets a tone, vibe, and atmosphere for your home prior to someone seeing anything that is stored inside. When family, friends, or a complete stranger arrives at your door he/she is getting a glimpse to your personality and style once viewing a wreath. Now trust me when I say that I am not the only person who analyzes a person based off their level of tidiness inside their home as well as judging the outer appearance of their residence (lol). Some may call that being slightly snobbish but I would beg to differ.

How you choose to present yourself weighs on a multitude of things, that being how you style and up keep your living space as one. Therefore, I always suggest to someone to use a wreath as a stylish staple and a welcoming item that sets a tone for his/her space. By no means I am saying that a person has to put a wreath on their door but could it help to spice up your space. Absolutely. Scroll down to see 2 wreaths that I designed here recently, one wreath is used for any season, while the other one serves as Fall decor.

I achieved each look for under 35 dollars, both wreaths being approximately 13-15 inches in size. All materials gather for each wreath were purchased from Hobby Lobby. Check out the Shifting House Pinterest Board to see what inspired these looks and more!

Remember....

Keep Foolery out the door, and invite inward peace into your home.
